The Shops at Columbus Circle

As a New Yorker, shopping is a huge part of our lives. Every part of town has  its own persona, and one of the highlights of that are The Shops at Columbus Circle. One of the only indoor shopping centers in NYC, it’s really a diamond in the rough. The location is on par, right across from the beautiful Central Park, and central to Broadway shows, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. With the likes of shopping at top coveted retailers, to enjoying the Mandarin Oriental New York spa and fine dining, this destination has all your needs covered.

I am really happy to partner with The Shops at Columbus Circle  and experience every aspect of shopping, dining and lifestyle. I shopped all the stores to choose my favorite picks for spring, whether it be the most coveted pieces or classic must haves; here is what I found:

First, I went to Michael Kors, and found this amazing white crossbody handbag with a beige canvas strap, suede interior lining and multiple interior pockets. I also came across these really fun digital watches that sync with your phone, and have a gorgeous backdrop for the time, as well as the most stunning espadrilles for the season. I picked this bag specifically because it’s a great classic trend item. It goes with pretty much everything, and if you’re in all black, it’s a nice way to brighten up an outfit.

The next stop was one of my favorites, Wolford, which has amazing basics for every season. I loved their super lightweight and smooth turtlenecks for spring. I found this amazing dusty purple color that I thought would look amazing with large earrings and high waisted denim for a night out.

I then headed to Ted Baker. The store was filled with spring colors, beautiful tailored jackets, and lace. I found this beautiful floral floor length gown which is pretty much the perfect dress for any wedding. The silhouette is simple enough to work at a casual wedding, while the print is great to wear somewhere more formal.

After Ted Baker, we stopped by one of my favorites, Stuart Weitzman. I had a tough time picking just one pair of shoes, because to be honest, everything in there is amazing…mojave suede boots, metallics and lace up sandals.  I went with something I thought had the versatility of a chameleon; these gold flat mule slides called ‘Mulearky’.

Next stop was  Monica Rich Kosann and I got the lowdown on the meaning of all her charms, amazing lockets with starry diamonds, and love rings with special messages. I chose this charmed globe.  You can add more diamonds to the globe to signify your travels. To me, spring and summer are synonymous with traveling and exploring so I thought it was the perfect piece.

I went to another favorite, BOSS.I really love their accessories but I found these  gorgeous tuxedo trousers that look like athleisure-wear.  They are great because of the versatility (dress up or dress down), and how amazing they pair with plain white sneakers and  a simple white ruffle shirt tucked in for an everyday look.

My last stop was Coach. They renovated the store a few years back, and as someone who really appreciates store design, this location was really an experience. If you haven’t checked it out, I would. I browsed through all the accessories, amazing embroidered handbags, and some beautiful floral dresses. I finally came across this gorgeous trench coat… I know a lot of designers make good rain coats, but this one was pure perfection from fit to the trimmings. Getting caught in the rain will not look so bad.

At the end of all the shopping, I met my friend Justin Livingston at Bar Masa; an amazing sushi restaurant with the most mouth watering fish and interesting dishes. We ended it all with these amazing cocktails – I had to do work after so I got a “mocktail”, obviously. We chatted about what we picked out for Spring, how our Spring cleaning is going, and ultimately concluded that this just may be one of the best spots to shop and hang out in New York City.
